The Local Government Unit of Magalang has achieved the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for 2023, marking two consecutive years as an awardee under Mayor Malu Lacson’s leadership since her return in July 2022.
ย
This recognition from the Department of Interior and Local Government reflects the LGU’s dedication to delivering excellent services, ensuring transparency in program and project management, and showcasing progress through efficient governance.
ย
This notable achievement also comes with the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund (SGLGIF), a valuable resource for priority projects. Last year’s SGLGIF, wisely utilized under Mayor Malu Lacson’s leadership, contributed to funding the monumental street lights from San Francisco to San Pedro 2, enhancing safety on Magalang’s roads.
ย
The evaluation covered 10 components, including financial administration, disaster preparedness, social protection, peace and order, business friendliness, environmental management, and more.
