Magalang LGU and Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) hosted the Intagible Cultural Heritage International Conference, in partnership with the APHEN-ICH International Field School and the University of Santo Tomas Graduate School Center for Conservation of Cultural Property and Environment in the Tropics (USTGS-CCCPET), alongside the collaboration of UST College of Tourism and Hospitality Management, a conference held under the aegis of UNESCO and ICHCAP aims to celebrate and safeguard intangible cultural heritage.
Inspired by Mayor Malu’s unwavering dedication, her administration’s award-winning programs have paved the way for safeguarding Magalang’s intangible cultural heritage. The conference includes a lantern-making workshop, featuring the revered “Lubenas ning Pasku,” recipient of the esteemed First Philippine Heritage Awards, further exemplifies the town’s commitment to preserving cultural traditions.
During the conference, PSAU President, Anita G. David, emphasized the profound partnership between LGU and PSAU and the invaluable significance of this gathering for academia, the town of Magalang, and indeed, the entire world. By delving into the realms of culinary culture, identity, diversity, and sustainability, participants explore the profound connections between gastronomy and heritage preservation.
Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) proudly presented a mouthwatering display of the province diverse food products at the Conference. Showcasing the essence of Pampanga’s rich culinary tradition, attendees were treated to an array of flavors that have stood the test of time.
